British Creative Dog Grooming Championship 2019

The 2019 British Creative Dog Grooming Championship will take place on Sunday 24th March 

Aston Village Hall, New Park Lane, Aston, Herts. SG2 7ED

Each entry has to be done separately (website issue)

Grooming MATTers is £5 per entry.
Junior Class £10 per entry.

All other classes £25 per entry.
Spectator and assitant tickets £5 pre paid, £10 on the day.

Please read class details before entry, click the appropriate purple box for the class you are entering.

All times are aproximate. 

Please note, there is novice and open classes for blank canvas, and extreme classes, other classes are open to all.

All competitors will recieve a certificate on participation, all attendees will get a certificate of attendance.

Carving

Pre-judging at 9.00am for the class to begin at 9:30am  with a  duration of 2 hours.

Description:
Carving a design onto a pre-prepared, clear coat with no previous design carved into it.
You may use clippers, scissors or trimmers to create the design. Although colour may be added prior to the competition, it must not be added during the competition and neither will it make a difference to the judging decision.



Junior Class

Pre-judging at 9.00am for the class to begin at 9:30am with a duration of 45 minutes

Junior class is for 8 to 15 years old, and runs under the same rules as Blank Canvas
Using stencils or freehand techniques to add tattoo's, patterns, touches of colour and other creative embellishments that you could incorporate into your salon.

All colouring to be done on the day.
Products used must be non-toxic and Skin safe.
Only minimal scissor trimming allowed.
Any breed of dog can be used.
Bling, feathers, chalk, blopens and airbrushing are all permissible.

Must have a responsible adult with them at all times during the competition, the adult may assist with handling, and safety of both the groomer, and the dog, but must not do any of the grooming itself.
Juniors not eligible for best in show




Blank Canvas

Pre-judging starts at 10:00am , class to begin at 10:30am with a duration of 45 minutes.

Blank canvas, also known as salon creative,   using stencils or freehand techniques to add tattoo's, patterns, touches of colour and other creative embellishments that you could incorporate into your salon.

All colouring to be done on the day.
Products used must be non-toxic and Skin safe.
Only minimal scissor trimming allowed.
Any breed of dog can be used.
Bling, feathers, chalk, blopens and airbrushing are all permissible.

Novice class, for those who have never competed, or not placed in creative classes before
Open class, for those who have placed in previous creative competitions



Extreme Creative 


Pre-judging at 12.00pm to begin at 12:30pm
Dogs under 15” 2 hours and dogs over 15” 2.5 hours


The only limitation, other than the safety and welfare of the dog, is your imagination and creative talents.
Colouring and basic shaping can be done prior to the class but finishing colour and styling should be done during the class.
There must be a discernable difference in the dog from the start to the finish of the class.
The dog must be able to move freely whilst wearing their style
all products used must be non-toxic and skin safe. The use of lightnening products is not permitted.
All competitors  given 15 minutes at the end of the class to prepare their staging ready to present their art to the audience.

Novice class, for those who have never competed, or not placed in creative classes before
Open class, for those who have placed in previous creative competitions.



Asian Fusion


Pre-judging at 12.00pm to begin at 12:30pm
Dogs under 15” 2 hours and dogs over 15” 2.5 hours

Dogs must have sufficient coat for a discernable change, .
Minimal colour, accesories are allowed, dogs must be clean and have no tangles in the coat. 

 All grooming techniques i.e. scissoring, clipping, hand stripping and thinning are allowed.



Canine catwalk

To begin at 16:00

Competitors from all the days classes are allowed to enter.
Fun, fancy dress for competitors, and style the dog to compliment each other.
All styling, colouring and embellishments should be done prior to the runway competition, this can be done on site during the day. 
The dogs and stylists show off their work on the catwalk.
All dogs are eligible for entry.



Grooming MATTers

Items received from 9am, no entries will be accepted after 11am

Almost anything goes, this is a pre-groomed/created class.
Wire frames, colour, accessories and a bundle of imagination can be used.
The piece must be made up predominately from matted hair.
